Scroll

1. I like this piece because it's mostly made of one color, green. They really took advantage of the green color by using different tones and shades. Unfortunately, this is only with painting. Plastic doesn't really have a lot of the different shades we are looking for.

2. I like this scroll painting because it has both light and dark colors. There are some definable solids in the strict black, but there is also that soft tone when they use the same color but with less opacity. I really like scrolls that could have solid shape and some sort of loose detail.

3. I like this one because there is a theme. Also, the border is very beautiful and definable. But going back on the theme, I was thinking of our exhibit and how it also had birds. We didn't really have these sort of birds in our exhibit so I thought it was a good breath of fresh air. I love the subtle uses of color and the consistency.

4. I love this one because it's a little more modern day and it draws away from the painting aspect. I think the incorporation of all sorts of art techniques is what really makes it stand out to me. They used unconventional materials like wire and some fabric too I think. It also has negative space. The positive space is uniquely details.

5. This one sort of reminded me of our project at hand. It's simple and it has a lot of shape. I love the subtle colors and consistency of them. There is only the solid 3 colors. I also like the difference of color and how it transitions from one to another. It reminds me of a plant growing in a long tall vase. The feeling it gives off is something I enjoy.
