Materials: Cogs, gears, keys, wireds, rings? What he actually used was: Part of a pigeon skeleton, keys, a watch, gears, a ring, a bead, an old toy I cut up, copper wire, gauze, sculpy, a gold chain, and a teeny tiny violin.

Why you like the art piece: When the assignment popped up, this is the first thing I thought of. There are a quite a bit of things I like about this. The most obvious one is how they delivered the work. It's clean cut and you can see exactly what they were going for. On the other hand though, you really have no idea what they were going for. What I like a lot about his piece if the circular gears or objects that were used for the joints, makes it look like the piece has more movement. I also like the use of a pigeon skeleton. In a way, I think it represents the death of mankind and the replace of machines. I feel like the art also has meaning behind it which is what really draws me to it. When it comes to making sculptures, I like pieces with shape and this definitely has it. It's not an animal that exists, but it looks like an animal that could exist. It's imaginative.

Materials: Leds, batteries, springs, screws, wire, glue, canvas, horseshoe nails, wire mesh, bolts, coke cans, etc.

Why you like the art piece: I like this art piece because all of the items used is relatively in the same category. They are all metals. They are used in wiring, electricity, that whole feel is what I get from looking at it. It looks like it's mainly screwed and wires, but it has those subtle touches that makes it mechanics stand out more. Like I said with the piece before, most of the gears are placed in areas of movement. A few things I didn't like about this was that is was messy. I think it could've done without the canvas and keep that sharp tough look. Either way, I think it's a fun way to put metals together.

Materials: Toilet Paper Rolls

Why you like the art piece: I like this art because it's simple. It shows a message without yelling at you. Paper rolls are very simple, but she made something simple into something beautiful and specific. At the same time, she shows a little bit of her culture by cutting out the branches of the trees that commonly grow in Japan. How it is set up is extraordinary too, the shadow is a nice addition but doesn't totally take all attention away. Overall, the missing parts of the toilet paper rolls, I think, is a clever idea of what to do with them. It's like how rolls come from trees, are used for toilet paper, and go back to being trees.

Materials: House paint, spray paint, recycled wood and leaves

Why you like the art piece: I like this art piece because, I suppose you can say I'm a fan of 3D objects and painting. I'm not personally good at painting, but I admire the colors and the blending they used. I feel like drawing the cloud on the house too makes it relate a little more. The colors are strong and both mellow but they don't clash which i find hard to accomplish. Little details like having the leaves on the ground sort of make it look like during/after the storm which holds a little meaning to me. I think the change in recycled wood texture adds to the art too. The canvas with the cloud in the corner is a little random, but I saw it as a box into another day of the same place where it was less cloudy.

Materials: Ribbons, pinks, misc metals, screws, wood, trinkets, etc.

Why you like the art piece: I sort of ran out of art that stood out to me. I feel like the first 4 pieces I posted represented the crispness I like in art. In this one, I want to show that I also like clutter in some cases. This is one of those pieces that speaks to me literal. For example, I think it shows that if you collect a lot of stuff and hoard, you are like a pig. This sort of relates to my life personally, which is probably why I like it.
